A tenant girl in Bhopal’s Nishtapura neighbourhood was arrested after police traced her involvement in a theft that netted ₹4 lakh and a gold necklace from her landlord’s residence. The girl, who had a minor accomplice, had a duplicate key made and used it to access the property’s lock. Police recovered ₹3.79 lakh in cash and the stolen necklace within 48 hours of the incident. The arrested woman is now in custody and a case has been filed under the relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code.
