The Telangana Directorate of Public Health says cases of viral fever and influenza‑like illness have fallen compared with the same period last year.
Hyderabad, Telangana – The state’s Directorate of Public Health (DPH) released data showing a noticeable decline in reported cases of viral fever and influenza‑like illness (ILI) for the current reporting period compared with the same timeframe last year. The department’s bulletin highlighted that the reduction spans across both urban and rural health centres, indicating a broad-based improvement.
Health officials attributed the downward trend to intensified public‑health campaigns, increased awareness about hygiene, and the continued rollout of seasonal vaccinations. The DPH emphasized that while the numbers are encouraging, continued vigilance is essential to sustain the gains.
The department urged citizens to maintain preventive measures such as regular hand‑washing, use of masks in crowded places, and timely medical consultation for any feverish symptoms. The DPH will continue to monitor disease patterns and publish regular updates.
