Three Indian states are restructuring their electricity distribution networks to serve only agricultural consumers, aiming to improve supply reliability and reduce losses.
Telangana, Maharashtra and Haryana have announced plans to convert their existing distribution companies into agriculture‑only discoms, a move that will separate agricultural power supply from commercial and residential loads.
