Telangana launches online portal to lodge complaints against private schools

The Telangana government has introduced a web‑based system allowing parents and guardians to file grievances against private schools directly with the state education department.
The state government announced the launch of a dedicated online platform aimed at streamlining the process of registering complaints against private schools. The portal, accessible via the official Telangana Education Department website, enables users to submit details of alleged violations, fee disputes, or non‑compliance with regulations.
Officials said the system will route each complaint to the relevant district education officer, who will be required to acknowledge receipt and initiate an investigation within a stipulated timeframe. The move is intended to reduce bureaucratic delays and provide a transparent record of grievances.
The Education Minister highlighted that the portal will also generate data analytics to identify recurring issues across schools, helping the department to take corrective action and enforce standards more effectively.
The launch coincides with broader efforts by the Telangana administration to improve oversight of the rapidly expanding private school sector, which now serves a majority of the state's student population.
