Deputy Chief Minister K. T. Rama Rao outlined the state’s welfare initiatives planned for the next three years, covering health, education and agriculture.
Hyderabad, Oct 25 (News18) – Telangana’s Deputy Chief Minister K. T. Rama Rao presented a comprehensive list of welfare schemes that the state government intends to implement over the next three years. The rollout includes new health insurance cover for low‑income families, scholarships for school and college students, and subsidies for small‑holder farmers to adopt modern irrigation techniques.
Rama Rao emphasized that the schemes aim to boost human development indicators and reduce poverty in rural and urban areas alike. He highlighted that the health initiatives will expand the existing Aarogya Karnataka‑style coverage to reach an additional two million beneficiaries by 2027.
The education component features merit‑based scholarships and free digital learning devices for students in government schools. In agriculture, the plan proposes increased credit facilities and direct cash transfers to support crop diversification.
The deputy chief minister said the three‑year roadmap aligns with Telangana’s broader vision of inclusive growth and will be funded through a mix of state resources and central government grants. Officials will monitor progress through a dedicated dashboard to ensure transparency and timely delivery.
The announcement comes ahead of the state’s upcoming budget session, where detailed allocations for each scheme are expected to be presented to the legislative assembly.
