Telangana Cricket Association urges BCCI to grant associate membership

The Telangana Cricket Association (TCA) has formally written to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), requesting that the national body consider Telangana for associate membership. The appeal underscores TCA's desire to integrate the state's cricketing activities more closely with the BCCI framework.

Associate membership would enable Telangana teams to participate in selected BCCI‑organized tournaments and gain access to developmental programmes. TCA officials say the move is aimed at fostering talent and providing a structured pathway for players from the region.

The BCCI has not yet responded publicly to the request, but the association expects a review in line with its established criteria for granting associate status to state bodies.

If approved, the membership could strengthen cricket infrastructure in Telangana and align it with the governance standards observed across other Indian states.
