Chief Minister of Telangana will inaugurate the rollout of laminated ration cards on Independence Day, aiming to streamline the ration distribution system.
The Telangana government plans to begin distributing laminated ration cards on August 15, coinciding with India’s Independence Day.
The move is intended to replace paper cards with a more durable, tamper‑proof version that can be easily verified by officials.
The initiative is part of the state’s broader effort to modernise welfare schemes and reduce fraud in the Public Distribution System.
Officials will set up distribution centres across the state to ensure that all eligible families receive their new cards by the end of the month.
