Tejasvi Yadav urges CM Samrat Chaudhary to address crisis of thousands of appointed teachers in Bihar

Ahead of the Bihar Legislative Council elections, RJD leader Tejasvi Yadav wrote to Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary demanding immediate resolution of the pending service of thousands of appointed teachers.

Tejasvi Yadav, a senior leader of the Rashtriya Janata Dal, has stepped away from active campaigning in the Bihar Legislative Council polls to highlight the deteriorating situation of appointed teachers awaiting regular service. In a letter addressed to Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary, he warned that the delay is creating a severe crisis affecting both educators and students across the state.

The correspondence specifically calls for the immediate regularisation of thousands of teachers who have been appointed but remain on contractual or temporary terms. Yadav argues that the prolonged uncertainty undermines the quality of education and erodes public confidence in the government’s ability to deliver essential services.

The teacher‑service backlog has been a long‑standing issue in Bihar, with reports indicating that many educators have been waiting for years to receive permanent positions and the associated benefits. The lack of resolution has led to strikes, absenteeism, and a decline in morale among school staff.

As of now, the chief minister’s office has not issued a formal response to the letter. Observers note that the timing of the demand, just before the council elections, could add pressure on the ruling party to act swiftly.

Political analysts suggest that Yadav’s move is aimed at consolidating voter support by addressing a tangible public grievance, while also putting the Chaudhary government on the defensive ahead of the upcoming polls.
