Team Sikkim has appealed for international support to rebuild homes, schools and roads devastated by recent floods in Nepal.
Team Sikkim, a volunteer group from the Indian state of Sikkim, has issued a call for aid following the severe flooding that has struck parts of Nepal.
The floods, which began in early July, have damaged thousands of homes, destroyed school infrastructure and washed away stretches of rural roads, leaving communities isolated.
In a statement released on Thursday, the group urged international aid agencies, the Nepalese government and the Indian diaspora to provide financial assistance, construction materials and skilled labor to accelerate reconstruction.
The call comes as Nepal’s National Disaster Management Authority reports that over 200,000 people have been displaced and that the country is in urgent need of resources to restore basic services.
