Two young men riding a motorcycle approached a school in the Andar police‑station area of Siwan, Bihar, and shot teacher Kishor Kumar Giri. The bullet struck him in the chest, leaving him in a critical condition.
Giri, a regular faculty member at the institution, was rushed to the nearest hospital where doctors confirmed severe internal injuries. He remains under intensive care as surgeons work to stabilize him.
Local police arrived at the scene shortly after the incident and have launched a FIR. Investigators are canvassing the neighbourhood for witnesses and reviewing CCTV footage to identify the assailants.
Authorities have urged the public to cooperate with the investigation and have warned that the perpetrators will face strict legal action under the Indian Penal Code.
