According to the latest ASI data for 2024-25, Tamil Nadu now hosts 41,221 factories, reinforcing its position as India’s manufacturing hub.
The Association of Indian Factories (ASI) has released its latest data for the fiscal year 2024-25, revealing that Tamil Nadu now boasts 41,221 factory establishments, the highest count among all Indian states.
This figure marks a significant jump from the previous year’s 38,500 factories, indicating a robust growth trajectory driven by the state’s pro‑industrial policies and strategic location.
The surge in factory numbers is expected to translate into higher employment, with estimates suggesting an addition of over 200,000 jobs, and a boost to the state’s export earnings, particularly in textiles, automotive components and electronics.
Tamil Nadu’s government has continued to offer incentives such as tax rebates, streamlined land acquisition and a dedicated industrial corridor, which together have attracted both domestic and foreign investors to set up new units across the state.
