The Tamil Nadu government has published the official list of public holidays for 2027, highlighting seven dates that will create long weekends.
The state of Tamil Nadu has officially released its calendar of public holidays for the year 2027. The announcement, reported by DT Next, outlines all statutory holidays observed across the state and identifies seven occasions that fall on a Friday or Monday, thereby creating extended three‑day weekends for workers and students.
These long‑weekend opportunities are expected to aid travel planning and boost domestic tourism within the state, as residents can combine the holiday with the regular weekend. The government has not disclosed any changes to the existing holiday policy, indicating that the list follows the usual pattern of national, religious and regional observances.
The full schedule will be made available on the state’s official portal, allowing employers and the public to schedule leave and plan activities well in advance of the year’s start. Officials urged citizens to verify the dates from the official source to avoid confusion.
