The Tamil Nadu government has appointed a new director for its state libraries, following a vacancy that has drawn attention amid a separate book procurement controversy in Coimbatore.
The Tamil Nadu government announced today the appointment of a new director for its state library system, a move that fills a vacancy that had remained open for several months.
The new director will oversee the administration of the state’s network of public libraries, ensuring the delivery of reading resources and the implementation of digital initiatives across Tamil Nadu.
The appointment comes at a time when the state’s library services are under scrutiny due to a separate book procurement controversy in Coimbatore, though the two issues are unrelated.
The government said the decision was made after a thorough selection process and that the new director would work closely with library staff to enhance access to information for citizens.
