Tamil Nadu Declares Holiday in Select Districts Amid Heavy Rain

The Tamil Nadu government has declared a holiday for a number of districts in response to heavy rainfall that has caused flooding and road closures across the state. Despite the weather conditions, schools in Chennai will remain open as the rainfall in the capital city is expected to be lighter and the infrastructure is deemed safe. The decision aims to reduce travel risks for students and staff, while ensuring that educational activities can resume once conditions improve. Officials will continue to monitor weather reports and may extend or modify the holiday if necessary.
