Tamil Nadu Congress Leaders Pay Tribute to Father Periyar's Statue on 148th Birthday
On the occasion of Father Periyar's 148th birth anniversary, Tamil Nadu Congress leaders K.V. Thangapalu and MP Praveen Sakharavathi garlanded his statue in Chennai's Annas Road near Simson, joined by state and district Congress officials.
Today, the statue of Father Periyar located on Annas Road near Simson in Chennai was honoured on the occasion of his 148th birth anniversary.
Former Tamil Nadu Congress Committee president K.V. Thangapalu and Member of Parliament and Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly member Praveen Sakharavathi personally garlanded the statue, paying homage to the social reformer.
The ceremony was attended by State General Secretary Siranjivi, district Congress Committee leaders Karate R. Selvam and Vijay Thanasekar, along with other Congress officials and volunteers.
The gathering underscored the party's reverence for Father Periyar's legacy and reaffirmed its commitment to his principles of social justice and rationalism.
