Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin has urged the Karnataka government to engage in bilateral talks to address the ongoing shortfall of water from the Cauvery River.
Chief Minister M.K. Stalin addressed a press conference in Chennai, stating that Tamil Nadu is prepared to discuss the Cauvery water allocation with Karnataka.
The call comes amid growing concerns as the river’s flow has fallen below the agreed share, exacerbating tensions between the two states.
Stalin emphasized the need for a joint assessment of water availability and the development of a framework to ensure equitable distribution.
He added that Tamil Nadu would seek a prompt meeting with the Karnataka Chief Minister to resolve the shortfall and restore confidence in the water-sharing arrangement.
