The state government unveiled a roadmap targeting a $1.5 trillion economy, emphasizing accelerated clearances in six selected cities.

Tamil Nadu’s administration announced a comprehensive economic blueprint that aims to lift the state’s gross domestic product to $1.5 trillion. The plan centres on six urban hubs that will receive priority treatment for infrastructure upgrades, investment incentives, and streamlined regulatory procedures.

According to the roadmap, the selected cities will benefit from faster clearances for projects in manufacturing, logistics, and services sectors. The government intends to set up single‑window clearance cells and digital portals to cut approval times, thereby attracting domestic and foreign capital.

State officials said the initiative aligns with the broader goal of positioning Tamil Nadu as a leading growth engine in India. By concentrating resources and simplifying processes, the roadmap seeks to generate jobs, boost exports, and enhance the state’s competitiveness on the global stage.
