The Indian Medical Association has launched a probe into Suryaa TV after allegations of involvement in healthcare corruption and incidents of violence against doctors, according to Mid‑Day.

The Indian Medical Association (IMA) announced that it is examining the operations of Suryaa TV, the channel owned by Bollywood actor Sunny Deol, following reports of alleged malpractice in the health sector. The association said the probe will assess whether the network has been complicit in corrupt activities that affect patient care.

According to the Mid‑Day report, the allegations include facilitation of illegal medical practices and the broadcasting of content that may have encouraged or downplayed violence against doctors. Several incidents of physical attacks on physicians have been linked to narratives aired on the channel, prompting the IMA to intervene.

The IMA has stated that its investigation will cover both editorial policies and any financial ties that could influence the portrayal of healthcare issues. While the association has not disclosed detailed findings, it warned that any breach of medical ethics could lead to legal action.

Suryaa TV has not issued a formal response to the allegations as of now. The development adds to a growing concern across India about the safety of medical professionals and the need for stricter regulation of media coverage related to health matters.
