A bench led by the Chief Justice of India has directed the National Capital Territory government to ensure that protestors injured by pellet guns at Jantar Mantar receive necessary medical care.
A bench headed by the Chief Justice of India issued a directive to the Delhi government today, demanding that it arrange timely and adequate medical treatment for protestors injured by pellet guns at Jantar Mantar.
The order follows a series of incidents during which police used pellet guns to disperse crowds in the historic Jantar Mantar area, leaving several people with eye injuries, lacerations and other wounds.
The Supreme Court emphasised that the state must coordinate with health authorities and ensure that all injured individuals receive appropriate care without delay.
The Delhi government has yet to issue a formal response to the directive, which adds to the ongoing legal scrutiny over the use of force in public protests.
