The Supreme Court on Thursday denied bail to YSRCP MLC Ananta Babu, who is charged with the murder of his driver.
The request for bail was filed by the accused’s counsel, who argued that there was insufficient evidence and that the accused might tamper with evidence.
In its order, the court cited the gravity of the offense and the risk of flight as reasons for rejecting bail.
Ananta Babu, a senior YSR Congress Party member, had been arrested earlier in connection with the case and is now being held pending trial.
