The Supreme Court has stopped its oversight of the probe into alleged misappropriation of Ram Mandir donations, following the filing of a charge sheet by Uttar Pradesh authorities.

The apex court announced that it will no longer supervise the investigation into the alleged diversion of funds raised for the Ram Mandir project. The decision comes after the Uttar Pradesh police submitted a formal charge sheet detailing the suspected theft and the individuals involved.

The charge sheet, filed in the state’s Special Investigation Team, outlines the financial trail of donations collected from devotees and the alleged irregularities in their handling. Uttar Pradesh officials said the document provides sufficient evidence for the case to proceed without the court’s direct monitoring.

Legal experts note that the Supreme Court’s earlier oversight was intended to ensure transparency, given the high public interest in the temple’s funding. With the monitoring lifted, the investigation will continue under the jurisdiction of the state’s investigative agencies, which will now file further charges or seek court orders as required.

The move is expected to streamline the legal process, although observers caution that the probe’s outcome will still be closely watched by both religious groups and the general public.
