The Mayor has stated that Supreme Court guidelines and individuals feeding stray dogs are impeding efforts to achieve 100% sterilisation of the stray dog population.
According to the Mayor, the implementation of Supreme Court guidelines is presenting challenges in the complete sterilisation of stray dogs. These directives, while aimed at animal welfare, are reportedly creating obstacles for local authorities attempting to manage the stray dog population effectively.
The Mayor also identified the practice of feeding stray dogs by citizens as a significant hindrance. While often done with good intentions, the continuous feeding by various individuals reportedly makes it difficult to locate and capture the same dogs for the sterilisation program, thus affecting the target of achieving 100% sterilisation.
