On Sunday morning, the Mahakaleshwar idol at Ujjain's Shri Mahakaleshwar Temple was adorned with Panchamrit abhishek and a special bhang decoration resembling the sun during the Bhasma Aarti.
The Shri Mahakaleshwar Temple in Ujjain hosted a special Bhasma Aarti on Sunday morning. During the ritual, priests performed a Panchamrit abhishek, bathing the idol of Baba Mahakal in a mixture of five sacred substances.
In conjunction with the Ashtami and Navami observances, the deity was further embellished with bhang, creating a visual effect likened to the sun. The bhang application formed a radiant aura around the idol, symbolising divine brilliance.
Devotees gathered in large numbers to witness the unique adornment, which is a rare occurrence in the temple’s ritual calendar. The ceremony concluded with traditional chants and offerings, reinforcing the spiritual significance of the event for the local community.
