India’s national cricket team has named Subhadeep Ghosh as its new fielding coach following the departure of former coach T Dilip.
On 12 March 2024, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced that Subhadeep Ghosh would take over as the national team's fielding coach, succeeding T Dilip who stepped down earlier this month. Ghosh, a former assistant coach for the India A side, brings over a decade of experience in fielding drills and fitness regimes. The BCCI hopes his expertise will sharpen the team's catching and ground‑fielding standards ahead of upcoming international fixtures.
Ghosh previously worked with the India Under‑19 squad and has been credited with improving their fielding efficiency during the 2022 U‑19 World Cup. He is known for integrating technology such as video analysis and wearable sensors into training sessions. T Dilip, who had served as fielding coach since 2020, resigned citing personal reasons. The BCCI said the transition will be smooth, with Ghosh already familiar with the coaching staff. The new coach is expected to work closely with the batting and bowling coaches to develop a cohesive fielding strategy for the upcoming tours.
