The results of student union elections have been released for 153 colleges across Odisha, marking the first announcement in eight years.
Student union polls conducted across 153 colleges in Odisha have finally been tallied, with the results announced after an eight-year hiatus. The elections, which determine student representatives for campus bodies, were held earlier this year under the supervision of the state’s higher education authorities.
The declaration comes as part of a broader effort to revitalize student participation in college governance after a prolonged pause caused by administrative delays and the pandemic. Officials said the results reflect a renewed interest among students to engage in campus affairs and address issues ranging from infrastructure to academic policies.
Education experts view the outcome as a positive step toward restoring democratic processes within higher education institutions in the state. They anticipate that newly elected student leaders will work closely with college administrations to improve campus life and ensure that student voices are heard in policy discussions.
