The Special Task Force (STF) together with officers from the GB Nagar police station in Siwan, Bihar, arrested a man identified as Asgar Mastan on charges of extortion. According to the police, Mastan approached a local contractor and demanded a payment of five lakh rupees, threatening to cause trouble if the amount was not paid.
Investigators say the demand was made in person, and the contractor reported the incident to the authorities. The STF launched a swift operation, locating Mastan and taking him into custody without incident.
Mastan is now being held for further questioning, and the case will be forwarded to the district court for trial. The police have not disclosed any additional details about his background or possible connections to other criminal activities.
