Senior information and public‑relations secretaries from all Indian states and union territories gathered in New Delhi for a national conference aimed at strengthening the digital information network between the centre and the states.

New Delhi hosted a national conference of information and public‑relations secretaries representing every state and union territory. The three‑day meeting, organised by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, brought together senior officials to review the existing digital communication framework between the centre and regional governments.

Participants highlighted gaps in data sharing, real‑time updates and coordinated messaging that have emerged as the country accelerates its digital governance agenda. Workshops focused on integrating state portals with central platforms, standardising content formats, and establishing rapid response mechanisms for emergencies and policy announcements.

The conference concluded with a consensus to draft a joint action plan, set up a permanent inter‑governmental coordination cell, and schedule periodic reviews to ensure the information ecosystem remains robust and responsive in the digital era.

Officials emphasized that a stronger, unified information network will not only improve governance efficiency but also enhance transparency for citizens across the nation.
