A 35‑year‑old Sashastra Seema Bal personnel stationed at the CSD camp in Kamla Nagar, Bhopal, died by self‑inflicted gunshot on Wednesday morning, leaving a suicide note apologising to his wife.
A 35‑year‑old member of the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) was found dead at the Central Supply Depot (CSD) camp in Kamla Nagar, Bhopal, on Wednesday morning. The soldier, identified as Sandeep Kharavate, died from a self‑inflicted gunshot wound using his service rifle.
According to the initial investigation, the firearm was recovered from the scene and forensic analysis confirmed it was the weapon issued to the deceased. No external foul play was reported.
A suicide note was discovered beside the body in which the soldier expressed remorse and asked his wife for forgiveness. The note did not reveal any political or extremist motive.
Local police have opened a case of suicide and are conducting standard procedural inquiries, including interviewing colleagues and family members.
