The Sashastra Seema Bal seized more than 325 kilograms of cannabis in Arunachal Pradesh and took one individual into custody.
The Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) announced that its personnel intercepted a large consignment of cannabis in the northeastern state of Arunachal Pradesh. The seized material weighed over 325 kilograms, making it one of the biggest drug busts reported in the region this year.
According to the SSB statement, the operation was carried out as part of a routine border surveillance effort. The force recovered the narcotics before they could be moved further inland, thereby preventing potential distribution across the state and neighboring areas.
During the raid, the authorities apprehended a single individual believed to be linked to the shipment. The suspect is currently in SSB custody and will be handed over to the local police for further investigation and legal proceedings.
The seizure underscores the ongoing challenge of drug trafficking along India's porous borders and highlights the role of paramilitary forces such as the SSB in curbing illegal substance flow.
