Indian Railways will launch a daily nine‑round special train linking Jodhpur and Chennai, traversing Guna, Bina, Bhopal and Itarsi, starting 3 October.

Indian Railways announced the introduction of a special "Pooja" train service to alleviate passenger congestion on the Jodhpur‑Chennai corridor. The train will operate nine round‑trip services each day, providing additional capacity for travelers during the peak season.

The route will take the train from Jodhpur in Rajasthan through the central Madhya Pradesh towns of Guna, Bina, Bhopal and Itarsi before reaching Chennai in Tamil Nadu. By linking these key junctions, the service aims to offer a convenient alternative for long‑distance passengers.

The schedule is slated to commence on 3 October, with the railway authority confirming that the additional runs will be integrated into the existing timetable. Passengers are advised to book tickets in advance as the special service is expected to attract high demand.

Railway officials emphasized that the special train will adhere to the same safety and comfort standards as regular express services, with reserved seating and catering facilities available on board.
