The remnants of a cyclone have moved away, but heavy rain continues across South India, prompting authorities to warn of another wet day tomorrow.

The low‑pressure system that spawned a cyclone over the Bay of Bengal has weakened and moved away, but its outer bands are still drenching large parts of South India with persistent showers. Meteorological departments report that the rain has shifted from a cyclonic core to a broader, less intense but widespread pattern.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a short‑term forecast indicating that the region will experience another day of moderate to heavy rainfall tomorrow, with accumulations of 30‑70 mm expected in coastal districts of Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka. The moisture-laden monsoon trough is expected to linger, keeping the skies over the peninsula unsettled.

State disaster management agencies have urged residents to stay vigilant, avoid low‑lying areas, and secure outdoor items that could be displaced by sudden downpours. Travel disruptions are likely, especially on highways and railway lines prone to waterlogging. Authorities recommend that commuters allow extra travel time and keep emergency kits handy as the wet spell continues.
