The South Goa district collector has mandated that all bulk waste generators must complete registration on the Central Pollution Control Board’s portal by 30 November, aiming to streamline waste management compliance.
The district collector of South Goa issued an official notice requiring every bulk waste generator in the district to register on the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) online portal no later than 30 November. The directive is part of the state’s effort to improve tracking and disposal of large‑scale waste, ensuring that industries, hotels, and construction firms adhere to environmental norms.
Authorities said the registration will enable real‑time monitoring of waste quantities, facilitate proper treatment, and help avoid illegal dumping. Non‑compliance could attract penalties under existing waste management regulations.
The collector’s office has circulated the notice to all relevant stakeholders and will conduct follow‑up inspections to verify that registrations are completed within the stipulated timeframe. The move aligns with the national Swachh Bharat mission and recent amendments to the Solid Waste Management Rules.
Stakeholders have been advised to visit the CPCB portal, create an account, and upload details of the type and volume of waste generated. The collector’s office will provide technical assistance to entities unfamiliar with the online process.
