The inaugural World Circular Economy Forum for South Asia kicked off today in Gandhinagar, Gujarat, bringing together policymakers, industry leaders and sustainability experts.

Key sessions will feature case studies from Indian firms that have adopted recycling, product‑life‑extension and material‑recovery strategies. Delegates from across the subcontinent, as well as representatives from the United Nations Environment Programme, are expected to exchange best practices and explore policy frameworks that support a transition from linear to circular production.
Organisers said the forum will culminate in a set of actionable recommendations for state and central governments, targeting sectors such as plastics, textiles and electronics. By highlighting successful pilots and investment prospects, the summit seeks to accelerate India’s ambition of achieving a greener, more resilient economy.
The event also includes a trade exhibition where startups and established companies display innovative technologies for waste‑to‑value conversion, digital tracking of material flows, and circular‑design services.
