India’s rising star Smriti Mandhana has become the first Indian woman to score 1000 runs in T20 internationals, a milestone celebrated by her teammates and senior players.

Smriti Mandhana has etched her name in Indian cricket history by becoming the first woman from the country to amass 1000 runs in Twenty‑Twenty International matches. The milestone was reached during a recent T20I series, where her innings of 70* helped India secure a win.

The achievement has been lauded by teammates and senior cricketers alike. Mithali Raj, Harmanpreet Kaur and R Ashwin all praised Mandhana’s consistency and grit, noting that the record is a testament to her hard work and the growing strength of Indian women’s cricket.

Mandhana, who has been a regular in the top‑order for India since 2019, said the run tally was a team effort and that she was grateful for the support from her coaches and fellow players.

Her 1000‑run landmark places her among the elite Indian women cricketers and highlights the increasing competitiveness of the national side on the global stage.

With the World Cup and other international fixtures on the horizon, Mandhana is expected to continue playing a pivotal role in India’s pursuit of further success.
