A sleeper bus en route from Bhiwada to Nasik met with a serious accident on the Mahu‑Neemuch four‑lane highway near the village of Rattagiri in Ratlam district. The collision occurred at approximately 1:30 am during heavy rain, when the bus struck a road divider and overturned.
Emergency services, including police and medical teams, rushed to the scene. Twenty‑eight passengers were reported injured; they were taken to nearby hospitals for treatment. No fatalities were reported.
According to eyewitnesses, the overturned bus came very close to a roadside dhaba before it toppled, narrowly avoiding a larger disaster. Authorities have cordoned off the stretch of road and are investigating the cause, focusing on road conditions and driver response in adverse weather.
