Skoda Auto India unveiled the updated Slavia sedan priced at Rs 9.99 lakh, featuring a new automatic transmission and upgraded equipment.
Skoda Auto India introduced the latest version of its compact sedan, the Skoda Slavia, with a price tag of Rs 9.99 lakh (ex‑showroom). The launch was announced through a press release reported by Telangana Today.
The updated model comes with a newly sourced automatic transmission, marking the first time the Slavia offers a gearbox option beyond the manual. The automatic unit is paired with the existing 1.0‑litre TSI petrol engine, delivering the same power output while providing smoother city driving.
Alongside the gearbox, Skoda has added a suite of premium features, including a larger infotainment touchscreen, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and enhanced safety equipment such as front‑and‑rear parking sensors and dual‑stage airbags. The company says these upgrades aim to position the Slavia more competitively against rivals in the sub‑compact sedan segment.
The Rs 9.99 lakh price places the Slavia in the same bracket as the Maruti Suzuki Baleno and Hyundai i20, but with a more European brand perception. Skoda expects the new variant to boost its sales in the Indian market, where demand for automatic cars is rising.
