From ITO to Jantar Mantar, authorities have installed a six‑layer barricade and will admit visitors only on presenting a valid ID, with Delhi and Uttar Pradesh police deployed on the site.
Delhi authorities have erected a six‑layer barricade stretching from the ITO area to the historic Jantar Mantar observatory. The measure is part of a heightened security operation that also sees personnel from the Delhi Police working alongside a contingent of Uttar Pradesh police officers. Entry to the site will be permitted only to individuals who can present a valid identification card, officials said. The joint deployment aims to prevent any untoward incident ahead of upcoming public gatherings and to ensure the safety of the monument and its visitors. Police spokespersons confirmed that the arrangement will remain in place until further notice, and that routine checks will be carried out at the entry points.
