Sikkim MLA Pamin Lepcha Joins NCW's 'She is Game Changer' Programme for Women Legislators

The National Commission for Women (NCW) organised a ‘She is Game Changer’ capacity‑building programme designed specifically for women legislators across the country. The workshop brought together elected representatives to discuss legislative best practices, gender‑sensitive policymaking and strategies for addressing women’s issues at the state level.

Among the participants was Sikkim’s MLA Pamin Lepcha, who attended the session as part of the commission’s effort to foster inclusive governance. Lepcha’s presence underscored the growing involvement of male allies in initiatives that aim to empower female lawmakers.

The programme featured interactive modules, case‑study reviews and expert briefings on topics such as gender budgeting, safety in public spaces and the implementation of women‑centric bills. Organisers said the training will help legislators translate national policy directives into effective state‑level action.

By joining the NCW event, Lepcha signalled support for the commission’s agenda of gender equity in legislative processes, a move welcomed by civil‑society groups monitoring women’s representation in Indian politics.
