Sikkim has inaugurated its inaugural adventure tourism festival and officially opened the Dzongu trail, aiming to boost eco‑friendly tourism in the state.
Sikkim’s tourism department has launched the state’s first adventure tourism festival, marking a new chapter for the Himalayan region.
The festival showcases a range of activities such as trekking, mountain biking, and river rafting, designed to attract both domestic and international adventure seekers.
A highlight of the event is the inauguration of the Dzongu trail, a scenic route that offers panoramic views of the surrounding mountains and provides a new corridor for eco‑tourism.
Officials expect the festival and the new trail to increase visitor footfall, generate employment for local communities, and promote sustainable tourism practices across the state.
