The Sikkim government has begun a series of departmental consultations to draft its long‑term development roadmap, ‘Sikkim Vision @2047’.
Sikkim’s state administration announced the commencement of departmental consultations aimed at formulating a comprehensive development blueprint titled “Sikkim Vision @2047”. The initiative seeks to chart the state’s socio‑economic trajectory up to the year 2047, coinciding with India’s centenary of independence.
All major state ministries and agencies have been invited to submit policy proposals, project ideas and performance assessments. Officials are expected to engage in a series of workshops and written submissions over the coming weeks, ensuring that each sector’s priorities are reflected in the final document.
The consultation process will culminate in a draft vision paper that will be reviewed by senior government officials before being presented to the cabinet. The final roadmap is intended to guide investment, infrastructure development, tourism, agriculture and human‑resource planning for the next two decades.
By initiating this structured dialogue, the Sikkim government aims to create a forward‑looking strategy that aligns with national goals while addressing the unique challenges and opportunities of the Himalayan state.
