The Governor of Sikkim has called for a boost in the ranks of the National Cadet Corps, urging increased participation across the state.
The Governor of Sikkim has publicly urged the state to increase the enrolment of students in the National Cadet Corps (NCC). In a statement released earlier this week, the Governor highlighted the benefits of NCC training for youth, including discipline, leadership skills and national service.
The appeal comes as the state government seeks to strengthen its contribution to national defence preparedness. The Governor emphasized that a larger NCC contingent would provide more opportunities for students to develop physical fitness and civic responsibility.
Officials have indicated that the state will work with schools and colleges to promote NCC participation, aiming to meet the national target for cadet enrolment by the end of the fiscal year.
