Sikkim has set up a dedicated task force to coordinate relief for residents affected by the recent floods in Nepal.
The state government of Sikkim announced the creation of a task force to oversee relief operations for residents who have been affected by the severe flooding in neighboring Nepal.
The committee will comprise officials from the state disaster management authority, health department, and local administration, and will coordinate with central agencies to ensure the timely delivery of food, shelter, medical assistance and other essential supplies.
The floods in Nepal have led to displacement of people across the border, with several seeking temporary refuge in Sikkim's border districts. The task force is tasked with addressing immediate humanitarian needs and facilitating the rehabilitation of affected families.
Authorities said they are monitoring the situation closely and will allocate additional resources as required, while keeping the public informed about relief measures.
