The Sikkim Excise Department has launched an e-Office and State Excise Management System (SEMS) to streamline excise duties and improve transparency.
In a move to modernise its operations, the Sikkim Excise Department today inaugurated an e‑Office platform and a State Excise Management System (SEMS).
The e‑Office will allow officers to file returns, approve licences and process payments online, reducing paperwork and speeding up service delivery.
SEMS, a cloud‑based application, will centralise data on excise duties, enabling real‑time monitoring and easier compliance checks for traders and the government.
Officials said the digital rollout is part of the state’s broader strategy to increase transparency, cut corruption and improve revenue collection.
