The Sikkim government announced plans to strengthen its judicial facilities, as affirmed by the Chief Minister.
Gangtok, Aug 23 — The Chief Minister of Sikkim reaffirmed the state’s commitment to upgrade its judicial infrastructure during a press briefing. He highlighted the need for modern court complexes, improved case‑management systems and better access to justice for citizens across the hilly state.
The government intends to allocate additional funds for renovating existing court buildings and constructing new facilities where required. Emphasis was also placed on digitising records and introducing electronic filing to reduce delays.
While specific timelines were not disclosed, officials said the initiatives will be rolled out in phases, aligning with broader efforts to enhance governance and public services in Sikkim.
