In a ten‑day operation, Sidhi police arrested 13 suspects and recovered leopard skin, live turtles, Tokay geckos, pangolin scales and tiger bones, exposing a network spanning six states.
Sidhi, Madhya Pradesh – Over a period of ten days, law‑enforcement teams in Sidhi carried out six coordinated raids targeting an organised wildlife‑smuggling syndicate. The operations culminated on Wednesday with the arrest of thirteen individuals suspected of trafficking protected species.
The seized contraband included a leopard skin, several live turtles, Tokay geckos, pangolin scales and bones of a tiger. Investigators recovered the items from multiple locations linked to the suspects, indicating a systematic effort to move high‑value wildlife parts.
Authorities disclosed that the criminal network operates across six Indian states, highlighting the inter‑state nature of illegal wildlife trade. The bust is being hailed as a significant step in enforcing the Wildlife Protection Act and curbing demand for endangered animal products.
