India’s middle‑order batsman Shreyas Iyer has risen to a career‑high fourth place in the ICC T20 International rankings.
The International Cricket Council (ICC) has updated its T20 International player rankings, placing India’s Shreyas Iyer at number four – the highest position of his career. The move reflects his consistent run‑scoring and adaptability across recent bilateral series and tournaments.
Iyer’s performances over the past few months have been marked by several half‑centuries and a steady strike rate, helping India maintain a competitive edge in the shortest format. His ability to anchor innings while accelerating when required has been highlighted by analysts as a key factor in his ranking surge.
The new ranking not only boosts Iyer’s personal credentials but also strengthens India's batting depth ahead of upcoming international fixtures and the next ICC T20 World Cup. Team management is likely to consider his form when finalising the lineup for crucial matches.
Cricket fans and commentators alike view the fourth‑place ranking as a testament to Iyer’s growth since his debut, signalling his emergence as one of the leading T20 specialists in world cricket.
