Shop owners in Delhi's Connaught Place report a complete halt in sales, citing a fearful ambience that deters customers, according to local interviews.
Shopkeepers operating in Connaught Place, the bustling commercial hub of Delhi, told reporters that their daily turnover has dropped to zero. They attribute the sharp decline to an atmosphere that makes pedestrians hesitant to enter the area.
Local shoppers echoed this sentiment, saying the prevailing mood feels unsafe and discourages them from visiting the market.
The observations were recorded during a series of interviews conducted by Amar Ujala, highlighting the immediate impact on small businesses in the capital's central district.
No official statement has been released regarding the cause of the uneasy environment, but the reported loss of business underscores growing concerns among vendors.
Authorities have not commented on the situation as of now.
