The Sheela Mata Temple in Amer, Jaipur will hold its Ghatasthapana on October 11, marking the start of a series of Navratri events including a Chhath fair, night worship and a full puja.
The historic Sheela Mata Temple in Amer, on the outskirts of Jaipur, is set to begin its Navratri celebrations with a Ghatasthapana ceremony on October 11. The ritual, which marks the official start of the nine‑day festival, will be conducted by temple priests and attended by local devotees.
Following the inauguration, a Chhath fair is scheduled for October 16, offering traditional food stalls, devotional music and cultural performances. Two days later, on October 18, a night worship (Nisha Puja) will be held, allowing worshippers to offer prayers after dusk.
The concluding event, a full puja (Purnahuti), is planned for October 19, bringing together priests and participants for a comprehensive set of rites to close the Navratri observances. Organisers have confirmed that all events will adhere to standard safety protocols.
Local authorities have coordinated with temple management to ensure smooth crowd management and adequate facilities for pilgrims throughout the festival period.
