After being released on interim bail from Tihar jail, Delhi riot accused Sharjeel Imam traveled to his ancestral village Kako in Bihar to attend his cousin’s wedding from October 4‑10.

Sharjeel Imam, who has been detained in Tihar jail on charges of conspiracy in the Delhi riots case, was granted interim bail by a Delhi court. The court ordered his release for a limited period to enable him to attend a family function.

The bail order specifies that Imam may remain free from October 4 to October 10, allowing him to travel to his native village for the wedding of his cousin. No other conditions were disclosed beyond the stipulated time frame.

Following the court’s decision, Imam left Delhi and reached Kako, his ancestral village in Bihar. Local residents reported his arrival and noted that the event has drawn considerable attention in the area, given his high‑profile legal case.

Authorities have indicated that Imam will be required to report back to the court after the stipulated period, and any further legal proceedings will continue as per the existing case file.
