The Shardiya Navratri celebrations have officially started at the Tripura Sundari Temple in Banswara, Rajasthan, with the shrine illuminated by electric decorations and special arrangements for pilgrims.
The revered Tripura Sundari Temple in Banswara, Rajasthan, opened its doors for the Shardiya Navratri festivities today. Devotees from across the state have begun gathering to offer prayers during the nine-night celebration dedicated to the divine feminine.
The temple complex is now bathed in vibrant electric lighting, with decorative lamps and LED displays accentuating the sanctum and surrounding courtyards. Organisers have installed temporary power lines and safety measures to ensure a bright yet secure environment for visitors.
Authorities have also put in place dedicated parking zones, drinking water stations, and medical aid points to cater to the expected influx of pilgrims. Earlier this week, both the Prime Minister and the Chief Minister of Rajasthan visited the shrine, underscoring the event’s cultural significance.
Local volunteers are assisting with crowd management and distribution of prasad, while temple officials have scheduled special aarti sessions each evening. The Navratri programme will run through the traditional nine days, culminating in Vijayadashami celebrations.
The state tourism department expects the festival to boost regional tourism, inviting devotees and tourists alike to experience the spiritual ambience of the historic temple.
